SAMU Wines on board the Murray River Queen
We are pleased to announce that SAMU Wines are now available on board the recently renovated Murray River Queen cellar door and restaurant.
Situated on South Australia’s River Murray at Waikerie just 2 hours drive from Adelaide, the Murray River Queen has undergone significant renovations to transform it from a back packer hostel to a stylish cellar door and restaurant. Behind the upgrade are Matthew and Susan Major who are creating a wonderful venue and building a fantastic asset for the Riverland region showcasing regional wine, beer, food and chocolate.
On Australia Day the cellar door, tasting deck and restaurant were opened to the public, and we were lucky enough to get an early glimpse of the renovations and a taste of the wine and food now on board the Murray River Queen. The restaurant called “Wok on Water” delivered a delicious Thai feast from chef Chuy, and needless to say the Waikerie locals and tourists are very lucky to have such amazing food and wine on the riverfront.
In the coming months the Murray River Queen will undergo further renovations with the accommodation being upgraded and plans to relocate the Murray River Queen to the Renmark foreshore.
We wish Matt and Susan the very best with the new Murray River Queen and proud to be part of this great development. Next time you are in the Riverland you can enjoy SAMU Nero d’Avola Merlot and Nero d’Avola Lagrein wines, plus sample a range of other regional produce while overlooking the magnificent River Murray.
